It’s an honor to be teaching at The Crocker Art Museum. Thanks to Emma who interviewed me, I taught yesterday for the first time. If you didn’t see it already, the class is Charcoal Drawing Applied to Contemporary Art. Basics of charcoal drawing with an emphasis on learning how to see and using the materials in an uncontrived way. blah blah blah blah
I squeezed this selfie in as I literally sprinted into the museum, running late from dealing with a late kid drop off and parking meter frenzy thing that almost sent me over the edge.
I’m so excited to be spending my upcoming Sundays with this group. They were so motivated and creative, it almost brought me to tears. YO Kelly, if you’re reading this, thank you for sharing that you appreciated my work that made me feel AWESOME, and I loved that small drawing you made with the “L” shape in it. Very cool.
We started the day out by walking around the museum and getting to know each other by talking about art. One of my FAVORITE things to do. I mean c’mon’, that could only happen by taking a class at The Crocker. Next week I’m getting there early so I can walk around the museum and find images for the class to work from on site. I can’t wait!
BTW, there are still spaces available in the class if you’re interested click here.
